This project is meant to tackle the problems of economic and political instability, inflation, spiraling costs, unemployment and migrants, which have a high prevalence in Sri Lanka. Through this project, three Sri Lanka Community Technology learning Centers (CTLC’s) were established in the capital Colombo, and two other districts which have a high prevalence of migrant worker populations, in the coastal belt and in a central area of the island. ICT, particularly internet and e-mail is being recognized by the beneficiaries as a powerful tool to eliminating damaging/ difficult issues faced by migrants in their career pursuits. The 5 to 6 days certificate course include a bridged version of Unlimited Potential (UP) Microsoft Curriculum, e-mailing, net browsing, sending pictures, receiving SMS via mobiles, other areas of interest, snapshot of Excel for money management, the Sinhalese package.
